Over the past few months, our coffee shop, Husk, has faced some serious challenges. We’ve been struggling with mental health issues for a long time, and recently, this has led to Sophie being in A&E more than once. Navigating the NHS for support has taken a huge toll on both our time and energy, making it incredibly hard to keep things running smoothly, and leaving us financially stretched.

Just this morning, we arrived to find someone had thrown a brick at our front window. Thankfully, unlike the first time, they didn’t get inside, but we’re now left with repairs we simply can’t afford and our insurance doesn’t cover.

Asking for help has been a last resort, something we’ve tried to avoid. But we’ve poured everything we have into making Husk what it is, personally funding every step. Because we’ve had to close so often due to health issues, there’s been no steady income and no other financial aid. Any funds raised will go directly toward essential expenses, bills, repairs, and other unavoidable costs that need to be covered just to keep Husk’s doors open. None of this will be for us personally; we’re solely focused on keeping the shop running. We do not expect to reach the full amount but are being honest about what we need to keep Husk going.
