Hi, I'm Heather and that photo is me and my husband Matt on our wedding day and our story is probably all too common these days.

We have made a home in our little apartment that is a center of peace for both of us. We worked hard for that and we don't want to lose it. In all honesty we don't really have anywhere to go if we do lose this sanctuary. All of our friends are in similar tight places these days.

I've been out of work for while. I've been trying hard to find a new full time job. I'm autistic and the current jobs world is very hard for me to navigate. Even with my difficulties I know there are a lot of jobs out there that I could do but most of those don't hire full time and I literally do not know how to handle two jobs at the same time. I am in awe of those who can and sad that they must. The other factor that is making my job search hard is that a lot of industries are letting people go for different reasons right now. With how many people are also applying for work I often don't even get to a first interview. Matt has a job but we can't make all our bills on his income alone and things are only getting more expensive as the days go by.

I am currently working to build a freelance business as an editor. I love reading and I am very detail focused. Working for myself as an editor would be a dream come true. It will be hard work but it's work I know I can do and that I will enjoy. However building a new freelance business takes time and bills don't wait so I'm here asking for whatever help you can give. The goal on this fundraiser is about what we would need to cover three months of bills.
