To everyone who has been lucky enough to stumble across this special place knows that it starts as just a hostel, you stay as friends and eventually leave as family. The "I'm just staying for one night" often turns into more as Happy Bunk Hostel truly feels like a home away from home. Proudly owned and run by Fernando (with the support of his staff and team of volunteers) and his always happy sidekick Summer, are known to bring Weligama together through collaborating with other hostels and hosting many events including weekly family dinners. For all who have met Fernando know him to be a genuinely kind and selfless legend of a guy who goes above and beyond to help anyone from all things accommodation, transport and more. If he can, he will and his sharing and inclusive nature has been the backbone of Happy Bunk and its famous welcoming vibes we've all come to love. The go-to modest guy that will help anyone who needs it but not one to ask for help himself when needed, so here it is!

The reason behind this GoFundMe is that the property housing our beloved Happy Bunk is currently up for sale.
