Keep Hamida & her mom safe, housed and fed

Donation protected
Several months ago, an Afghan woman, Hamida, and her elderly mother moved to the US after a long wait on the US asylum program. Shortly after their arrival in January, most of the programs they were going to rely on for resettlement were canceled. We were able to get them a small apartment and help furnish it. Pooling our funds and finding various programs, we've been able to keep them housed and fed until now.

All of their funding is ending and they will be evicted from their housing in June. Every organization has said there is nothing left they can offer. We need your help with funds to cover rent, utilities, and groceries for the next 6+ months.

Finding a job has been difficult, and we are not sure when Hamida will be able to secure one. Her job search has been made difficult as Hamida is almost blind and may be losing her vision entirely soon. While in Afghanistan, she was not able to have her glaucoma treated well, and now in the late stages, she is almost nearing blindness. They are in a dire situation, and we're hoping to at least keep them housed and fed while trying to find a long-term solution and support.

Check out this link if you'd like to see if you can help Hamida find a job using her language skills.

Every dollar will help, and please share this page with your networks.

Thanks in advance
