Let me tell you about my kind friend Greg Gentle. As his name suggests, he is a gentle soul—so much so that I can forgive him for being a Kansas City fan. In 2020, Greg lost his home to the devastating fires in southern Oregon, which caused so much loss. He was at work then, so all he had left was his car and work clothes. Our pool community of friends, both near and far, came together to help him, allowing him to rebuild his life and continue as a hardworking individual.
Recently, Greg has been diagnosed with some very serious medical conditions, preventing him from working. He is currently waiting for disability benefits to kick in. In the meantime, he has been living off his savings, which are now depleted. He has reached out to local charities for assistance but is on waiting lists or facing charities that are out of funds themselves. He is unable to pay his rent due on August 1st, and if the disability benefits don’t come through soon, this kind person may end up experiencing homelessness while dealing with these serious medical issues.
I know times are tough for many, and while I can't help Greg financially myself, I can do this for him. He's far too quiet to ask for help on his own. If you know Greg and can offer assistance, please reach out to him. If you don't know Greg but would like to help, let me know, and I'll connect you with him. He lives in Medford.
Any financial support, whether through this GoFundMe or by sending it to me to pass on to him, would be greatly appreciated. With your help, whether physical or financial, you will feel better helping out a nice human, and that nice human will feel the love of community. Thank you for listening.
