Keep Gizmo with the Gunters

Hello everyone. My name is Kasee Sheehan and my husband, John, works with Hannah Gunter at Deleon and Stang. Over this time, Hannah has become my friend with whom I can confide in all things and share the good, bad, and ugly things in life.

Hannah and her husband, Drew, have been faced what can only be described as the darkest times life can offer. Earlier this year, Hannah and Drew received the devastating news they had lost their baby girl at her 20-week scan. They are now being faced with losing their oldest daughter's best friend, Gizmo.

Gizmo started limping on Monday, and by Wednesday, her back legs were completely paralyzed. Because the price of the surgery was astronomical and time was of the essence, they made the difficult decision to surrender her to a rescue that could give her the medical attention she needed immediately.

This decision was selfless and out of pure love for their dog. Like most rescues, the original owner cannot adopt the dog back once the animal has received medical care. I have talked to the owner of the rescue, Courtney, who has been amazing and taking excellent care of Gizmo. She will allow Gizmo to be adopted back to Hannah and Drew if we can cover the medical costs of surgery and rehab.

My heart breaks for Hannah, Drew, and their sweet toddler, who keeps crying for her MoMo. I know we cannot undo all of the hurt and devastation, but I hope we help bring Gizmo home to them.
