hi my name is gavin sippel. i have always loved fishing. recently ( may 24 2021) i was unfortunately diagnosed with a neuromuscular disease. Friedreich’s ataxia (FA) is a debilitating, life-shortening, degenerative neuro-muscular disorder. About one in 50,000 people in the United States has Friedreich's ataxia. It is estimated there are 4,000 individuals affected with FA in the U.S., and 15,000 affected individuals worldwide. the purpose for this fundraiser is to keep me fishing. i feel as if a pedal kayak would not only 1.keep me working hard by using my leg power 2. it will make me feel like a real teenager that’s able to participate in activities while i can. i never know when i will be in a wheelchair! but i don’t think in the future, i live in the present and do what i want to do! my instagram is fishing.gavin
