My name is Desmond, and I am the only child of the late Garth Petal, who recently passed away after a long battle with cancer. To properly memorialize and honor Garth, we, his family, would like to inter him at Mountain View Cemetery, here in Oakland.  Garth donated his body for scientific research, and as a result, his cremation costs were totally free of charge! This cemetery, and its stunning vistas, were a favorite hangout for Garth, friends, and family for decades. However, permanent real estate has an unavoidable price. The plot we have picked features Japanese touches, and is adjacent to the cemetery's Jewish section. We would very much appreciate any modest contribution to make this at all possible. All funds raised will be used to pay for Garth to be enshrined at Mountain View Cemetery in Oakland; for the purchasing of a plot, internment of Garth’s ashes, and a headstone.
