I am a big animal lover. I volunteer at the world-famous San Diego Zoo, and I donate to many animal-related charities. Now, I find that I am the one in need of financial assistance for my sweet dog, Fritz Jose. He has been diagnosed with a nasal tumor and needs radiation. If he were an older dog or if the prognosis was not positive, I would not put him through radiation. But, he is only 7 and is otherwise in good health, and the prognosis is good for more years of a quality life. My pets are my family, and I have to do what’s best for them. In this case, it is radiation that will cost $11,000. If you are able to help Fritz Jose (a Chihuahua Dachshund, so he has a Mexican/German name), it would mean the world to my little family of two dogs and two guinea pigs. If there is any money left over after his treatment, I promise you I will donate the money to someone else whose dog is facing a life-threatening but manageable illness for whom expenses would be a deal breaker. Thank you in advance. I’ve raised a lot of money over the years as a retired school teacher and never thought I’d need a fundraiser for myself. But, Fritz Jose is worth it. In one of the pictures, you can see how bonded he is to his “sister.” Fritz Jose is the darker doggie. Both cry when the other isn’t around. I need to keep these two together and get rid of that awful tumor!
