Keep French Cancer Free and Healthy

In 2002, my husband French was out to dinner with his family, when he blacked out. When the doctors determined why, they informed him he had an astrocytoma near the right frontal lobe of his brain, he was 32 years old. After many more tests they determined that the best course of action was to surgically remove the tumor. They gave him a 50/50 chance of survival. He made it through the surgery and recovery and was cancer free for two years. They continued to monitor for new growth by completing a MRI of his brain every 6 months. In 2004, the doctors informed him that the tumor had returned. This time they decided to try radiation treatment. He went through treatments for the next 6 months and was once again cancer free. Things went well for several years. In July 2009, we got married and 2 years later we moved to Nevada. We continued having MRI's every 6 months to ensure we could catch the tumor quickly if it came back. In 2014, he started having some symptoms that concerned the doctors. They completed a MRI and informed us that the tumor has once again returned. After conferring with a top of his field Neuro Surgeon in California, they decided his best chance of survival was a second brain surgery. So in June of 2014, we took what little money we inherited when my Mom passed away and headed to California for his surgery. The tumor had become much more aggressive and faster growing. The surgery took most of the day. While he was in recovery the surgeon told me that he felt he was able to get approximately 99% of the tumor but it was so close to some very sensitive areas that he didn't want to go any further. To be sure that the surgery was as successful as possible they put him on an oral Chemo therapy for a year and a half. At that point, he began having some neurological issues and since the tumor had not returned they opted to take him off of the Chemo in case it was somehow involved in the problems he was then having. He has spent the last 2 years fighting numerous neurological issues, including pre-cursors to seizures, irregular spikes on both sides of his brain, extreme fatigue, tinnitus and vertigo among others; the prevailing opinion is that the scar tissue from the two surgeries and/or the damage from the radiation treatment are to blame. This has resulted in him bouncing from job to job while we try to find resolutions to each new problem. Which has left me working two jobs trying to cover all of our costs of living expenses? The problem is I cannot cover all of those expenses and cover the medical expenses. Between the medications and all of the tests we have fallen behind and he needs more tests. We are already behind on his MRI's so we don't even know if the tumor is trying to come back at this point. He needs additional x-rays for issues with his back and our now current insurance covers so little that they want over $600 just for x-rays. He really wants to get well enough so he can hold down a job but we don't have the money to get him the tests or to do whatever needs done following the tests. Like visiting the Neuro Ophthalmologist for the eye issues he is having. The endocrinologist visits and the meds to fix what the Chemo did to his endocrine system. But most importantly we need to find a way to get his MRI's done as soon as possible to be sure that he is still cancer free. Unfortunately we have already been told that if it comes back again they will not have much time to stop it. Please help us make my husband healthy again and help him to remain cancer free.
