Keep Fish Bar going!
Donation protected
Here we are at Fish Bar 237 East 5th street NYC, our small local East Village bar since 1/2000, but it has been here since early 1980's. We plan on staying but we really need your help. Our staff needs your help.
So we are reaching out to others that value the culture of NYC bars and nightlife. We are in good standing in our community, never any trouble with police. We are following all guidelines for safety as they are made known. Generally quiet, we don't have a TV or WiFi (folks have to talk to each other). We do have a monthly acoustic guitar Music Jam that is mainly about The Beatles.
A bar like ours provides a safe and friendly place to socialize and meet others, to network, find comfort, help, and fun. We have had weddings, memorial services, fundraisers for sick patrons, outrageous Halloween parties, Christmas dinners and Boxing Day dinners free to our patrons, cozy Christmas Eves and knock your socks off New Years Eves.
We have loyal customers who are sticking with us through the new outdoors initiatives, but the income is nowhere near enough. We applied for all grants, loans, available, but sadly got very little since we are a small establishment.
The funds hopefully collected here by kind donations will go to outstanding bills and rent and 30% will be distributed to our 6 employees. Whatever you may be able to spare during these harsh times even $5 or $10 will be most gratefully appreciated. We plan on seeing this through and with your help we can do it!
