Eli, a multiply disabled queer person in their 30s, is facing severe dental problems that Medicaid won’t cover.

Eli’s misaligned bite means they’re gradually loosening their front teeth with every bite or night grinding their teeth. A bite guard or Invisalign would solve this problem! But Medicaid will only pay for tooth extraction, not bite guards or Invisalign.

So we’re fundraising, because pulling healthy teeth from the mouth of a person in their 30s is ridiculous.

The initial goal, $700, would cover the creation of a custom bite guard for use while sleeping that would prevent Eli’s bite from getting worse.

The stretch goal, $1,700, would cover the down payment of $1,300 for Invisalign, and the first monthly installment of $300 (with some buffer for GFM fees.) The Invisalign would not just prevent things from getting worse: it would totally fix Eli’s misaligned bite, preventing other future problems.

Eli’s mom, Jaelyn, will receive the funds, and buy the dental apparatus for Eli as a gift. Kate is handling the gofundme admin and updates.
