Hello! My name is Nakayla Harvey, but I prefer to go by Eden. I am 21 years old, and I am a college student attending Seminole State College of Florida. I am currently majoring in Spanish, but I want to pursue my bachelor's in English. I have hopes of working in the medical field and/or being a teacher. I live with my mom, and I am currently unemployed. I have been applying to jobs to no avail.
My mom and I are currently at risk of losing our home due to eviction. My mom lost her job in August, and she was working to support me as well as let me get my education. Due to this job loss, we currently are unable to pay for our rent for September and October. The amount owed is $2,400. We have no vehicle, and we own two cats that we take care of; they are our ESA animals. We are trying to make ends meet, and my mother has currently found a new job; however, because of its new acquirement, she has not been able to pay the full amount of rent because of scheduling.
We are trying our hardest to find solutions, which haven’t been easy due to the government shutdown. The shutdown has closed us off from opportunities to get rental assistance because of the lack of funding to these facilities. We are on the verge of losing our home, so any donation, small or big, will be greatly appreciated in order to help us. Thank you for reading this, and hopefully, you can help us get through this difficult time.
