Help Bailey's Mom save their home!

Donation protected
In May 2024, a local person and friend, Diana Greer, lost her 37 year soul-mate after his 14-month battle with esphageal cancer.
They were husband and wife in every way, except on paper, and when he passed, she was left with a daunting amount of debt, a house in his name, was jobless, and had no supportive benefits forthcoming from Jim's Social Security. Unbenownst to them, Washington State doesn't recognize common-law marriages.
When Jim became too sick to work, he lost health benefits and their main income. The meager income from Diana's ceramic shop job was barely enough to keep the animals fed, a little food on the table, and to cover his medical supplies. In his last weeks, she had to reduce work hours to care for him full-time so he could remain in their humble rural Roy, WA home.
Her last act of love was to honor his dying wish, -for him to die at home, with his 110 lb black Lab, Bailey, next to him on the bed, being able to see their beloved horse, Madoma, through the window, and surrounded by everything and everyone he loved.

She had barely began to grieve his passing when her life became even harder.

As she scrambled to find a job that paid enough to cover bills, hay, and dog food, the bank began sending impending forclosure notices and property taxes came due. Then Diana had an accident, badly breaking her leg. After three surgeries, she had the added burden of barely being able to move around and was unable to drive.
Even with reaching out to local resources, she has not been able to slow the backwards financial slide, and has only been able to keep Bailey and Madoma fed through the generosity of neighbors and friends. And now (she says it's the least of her worries), her washing machine has died. Still, Diana maintains faith she can save the home she and Jim created together, and begin the long journey of digging out from $20,000 mountain of debt...

Diana Greer is one of the most selfless people I know. She is a genuinely good person with a beautiful and kind soul. She and Jim have given many others a hand up when they experienced hard times, and Jim would be horrified if he knew her current state of things. Without immediate help and perhaps a bit of hope, this little rag-tag family is going to lose not only their home, but each other.

I understand times are tough, but if anyone out there can help build her a life ring, and offer perhaps a word of encouragement during the next few months, it would give her some much-needed hope to cling to, -and just might be enough to pacify the bank until she can turn things around.
