My Story Isn't Over Yet

For two years, I’ve been running on empty, facing health setbacks that left me limited or unable to work. I've done everything I can to hold on. I've applied for jobs, reached out to over 30 churches in the Dallas area, contacted local nonprofits, and sought support wherever possible. In July, my body finally gave out.

Now, I’m facing eviction, with a court date scheduled for September 26th and only days left to find a solution. My utilities and phone are also at risk. Thanks to food assistance and local animal support programs, I have food for myself and my dogs but housing is where I need help most.

Last year, I reached out to my aunt who had long told me I could come to her in times of need. I came when I was on the verge of giving up and struggling with thoughts of ending my life. But when I finally asked for help, I was met with silence and distance. I don’t share this to blame, but to show how far I’ve already gone trying not to ask for help and what it took for me to finally reach out here. It’s one of the hardest things I’ve experienced, not just because of the financial and health struggles, but because of what it felt like to be turned away when I finally reached out. That’s why I’m here now because I believe in the kindness of people who understand that asking for help is never easy, but sometimes necessary.

There have been moments over the past two years when the weight of everything felt overwhelming. But what kept me going and still keeps me going is the belief that I can use my voice to help others, that my story is still being written. I’m a storyteller at heart. I host a podcast that celebrates the journeys and voices of everyday people in the Pokémon community, a space I created to remind others (and myself) that every story matters, even in hardship.

Right now, I’m fighting to make sure mine doesn’t end in silence. If you're able to help whether financially, by sharing this campaign, or simply by offering encouragement, I’d be deeply grateful. I’m not just trying to survive this moment. I’m trying to rebuild. And with your help, I believe I still can. Even $5 or a share can make a huge difference and help keep me in my home.

Thank you for reading.
Thank you for believing.
My story isn't over.
It's still being written.
