Here we are again! More cancer! My son-in-law, Dave, was diagnosed with leukemia two weeks ago. He's been transferred to MUSC Leukemia Hospital in Charleston, SC. They started the 30-day inpatient chemo treatments yesterday. His oncologist said he'll be inpatient for at least 30 days, and then being treated as an outpatient for another 60 days. We tried to get my daughter into the Hope Lodge and her dad tried to get her into RMHC but there's no availability.
As this medical complex is on the water in Charleston, hotels are very expensive. With the hospital discounts, the least expensive within walking distance is $85 a night. She's there without a vehicle as hers broke down the week that Dave was diagnosed. It's being fixed this week ($1400) and I'll figure out a way to get it to her when done.
The oncologist said Dave will not be able to return to work for at least a year once he beats this thing.
So, this is where you can help (if you're able). These are the expenses that we need to cover while Dave is in treatment and Kristen can stay near her husband.
Motel fees
Meals
Their monthly bills at home
Transportation
If you can help us, we would really appreciate anything. Thank you for your continued prayers.
If you can't help, maybe you can give us a share.
Thank you and God bless us all.
