Keep Cry Baby Safe from Closure due to Covid-19

Dear Cry Baby Army,
Recently, Oregon issued a stay at home order due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This order requires businesses that are “non-essential” to close their doors for an undetermined amount of time. One of the industries deemed “non-essential” are tattoo shops. All tattoo shops in the state are currently shut down until further notice. There is some projection that this order will last into the summer months, possibly as far as this fall. This mandate ultimately resulted in the lay offs of our dedicated, hardworking, and loyal staff members here at Cry Baby.
Cry Baby Ink and many other small businesses are facing a time of extraordinary uncertainty and unprecedented challenges. As tattoo artists and independent contractors, the unfortunate truth is we qualify for less benefits regarding unemployment insurance and the new CARES act. We are expected to continue paying all operational expenses including rent, utilities and advertising while we are forced to be closed. Operating a tattoo business of our size is expensive. We have been completely blind sighted by this pandemic. To date, we have not received any financial aid, and this seems to be the common-place between Cry Baby and many other small businesses.
During these challenging times, contributions of any kind will help Cry Baby Ink and our dedicated staff and their families until we are able to reopen and welcome everyone back. Cry Baby Ink does not expect anything for free, so we plan on giving back to our donors. Everyone that donates will get items such as stickers, t-shirts, hats, artwork, or even tattoos. We will continue to actively assess the situation and will provide updates on our Facebook, Instagram, and other sources available. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any further questions.
Cry Baby Ink just celebrated 14 years in business and we would like to celebrate at least 14 more. We are a strong deep-rooted community, and we know that if people can contribute even the smallest amount, the Cry Baby Army can achieve anything. It is and will always be a privilege to serve you and our incredible community! For those that are able, please support your small business owners, artists and all those in need during these times.
