We all know the corona virus has hit us hard and everyone is trying to deal with it in our own way. Unfortunately, small business owners are feeling the brunt of the crisis. These local businesses are the ones that make Bend what it is; the Bend that we all know and love.
Over the years, Central Oregon Aerial Silks has become a place for many men and women to push themselves to new heights. A place for both the young and old to discover hidden talents, build strength of both body and mind and develop crucial self-esteem in a healthy, fun and creative way.
We are lucky enough to have an amazingly talented and professionally trained aerialist in our community who provides an exciting alternative sport for kids and adults alike to participate in, a sport that gives people the chance to fly and experience the thrill and pride of mastering new skills. An activity that challenges people in ways they can’t even imagine.
Alas, as is the nature of many small businesses, hardships on the economy can prove to be their downfall. While COAA is doing everything they can to make a safe and healthy environment for those attending classes, the very real fear of the Corona outbreak has hit them hard. With less and less people willing to venture out of their homes if not necessary, Bend may be seeing the closing of its only aerial silks studio. I am an assistant silks instructor at Central Oregon Aerial Arts and have organized this gofundme on behalf of COAA to help with business costs during this tough time. I am asking anyone who has a passion for sports, aerial performance and the community at large to help COAA weather this storm so that it may be here to bring fun and activity to people of all ages for years to come.
If you find yourself in a position to donate, any amount helps and is greatly appreciated. If not, please spread the word so that we can help our community from losing its diversity in sports available to us and keep COAA flying!
