Keep Clear Space Theatre in Rehoboth
Don’t Let the City Bring Down the Final Curtain on Clear Space Theatre in Rehoboth Beach
Clear Space Theatre desperately needs your help to fight an adverse decision by the City’s Board of Commissioners to overturn the approval of building plans by the Planning Commission to build Clear Space Theatre’s new home on Rehoboth Avenue. This is the second time in less than a year that the Planning Commission’s approval has been overturned. Clear Space Theatre has been fighting opponents and the Board of Commissioners for over three years. Appeals to the Board of Commissioners under the City Code are now exhausted. The only real option left is to pursue a legal action by filing a Writ of Certiorari in the Delaware Superior Court to review the proceedings to determine whether the Board of Commissioners was wrong in finding that the City Planning Commission’s approval was “arbitrary and capricious.”
We need your help. We need your strong voices in support of Clear Space Theatre - letters to the editor of the Cape Gazette, letter and e-mails to the Mayor and Commissioners. But we also desperately need your financial support in order to pursue a course of action that includes filing with the Delaware Superior Court to overturn the Board of Commissioners’ adverse decision. Unfortunately, bringing a court action is expensive — but we have no choice. Without your financial support to do this, the FINAL CURTAIN WILL COME DOWN IN REHOBOTH BEACH!
This fundraiser will be used for legal and operational purposes.
