Keep Cindy in Chemo
Donation protected
In December 2021, after months of undiagnosable and unresolved health problems, Cindy was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. When her doctors attempted a Whipple procedure to remove the tumor, they discovered that the cancer had already spread to her liver and were forced to halt the procedure. Cindy’s doctors advised her that her next step was to go home and get in touch with hospice care-they were not even going to send her for chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
Cindy, not content to go home and give up, was determined to find another option. After much research and discussion, she chose to pursue treatment at Euro Med Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona, as the clinic is regarded as having the highest success rate with complicated cancer patients. This facility provides a holistic approach to healing combined with traditional chemotherapy.
Cindy has already received 6 weeks of treatment at the Euro Med Clinic and is thriving in their care. After 8 chemo treatments, all of Cindy’s measured cancer markers were down. She needs many more weeks of treatment to manage her advanced cancer and the costs are overwhelming.
Treatment at the Euro Med Clinic is completely out-of-pocket. Cindy walks to her daily appointments and has been extremely fortunate to have transportation assistance from a local church as she does not have a car in Phoenix. It will soon become impossible for Cindy to walk to her appointments due to rising temperatures and exhaustion due to chemo.
Cindy taught for 39 years in the Caldwell County School System. She taught kindergarten at Dudley Shoals Elementary School and kindergarten-3rd grade at Hudson Elementary, improving countless lives by sharing her passion for reading. Cindy’s husband of 53 years is also a retired public school teacher. North Carolina consistently ranked below the national average for teaching salaries throughout their teaching careers.
Since her retirement, Cindy has continued to instill a love of learning in local children through tutoring. In addition to being a teacher, Cindy is a loving wife, proud mother of two boys and doting Nana of 4 young children.
This Go Fund Me will help partially subsidize the cost of Cindy’s treatments and the associated housing and transportation expenses. Please donate to this cause and give back to someone who has done so much for the children in her community.
