Keep Cathal Moving!

Cathal is a beautiful, charming and fun loving child. Like every other 9 year old boy he just wants to move, dance and around with his little brother. Unfortunately, sometimes in life we take these things for granted.
Cathal was born with a rare chromosome disorder; we will not bore you with the science, but basically this means that Cathal's brain and body do not work as they should. He struggles to stand because his balance is affected so he is unable to walk alone. He is at risk of falls and sustaining serious injury. In 2016 Cathal experienced a fractured skull which caused a bleed on his brain. Cathal also experiences multiple seizures on a daily basis despite being prescribed huge amounts of anticonvulsant medications. These are so distressing to witness and manage as a parent.
As you can imagine trying to provide a safe yet stimulating environment for Cathal is a challenge. He requires an accessible, external space where he can receive the necessary sensory feedback and fresh air, as he is currently confined to his small bedroom due to nursing risk management plans. All Cathal wants and needs is some space and stimulation in a safe environment. With each passing day Cathal's ability to walk is becoming compromised as his feet and ankles are becoming weaker and we fear that unless we can provide this additional safe space urgently he will loose the ability to move at all.

These are fundamental rights and freedoms that most of us take for granted. Unless we are able to provide this space for our beautiful boy he will lose the ability too move, walk and dance. No parent should have to countenance such a thought.
We know and appreciate that there are so many worthy causes and we are humbled and feel so privileged that you have chosen to support Cathal.
