Help Keep Caroline Salvatore at Home after her stroke
Donation protected
In September of 2020, our mom, Caroline Salvatore, had a stroke, is in a wheelchair, and she has required 24/7 care ever since. While her body and memory have been affected, mom remains quite cheerful and has one, often stated, main goal left—to remain in her home and not go into a long-term care facility. This is something mom has told all of us multiple times over the years, and we are doing everything we can to meet her wishes. She enjoys seeing family, going to mass at St. Romuald's, getting outside (particularly to the beach), and plans to visit Salve Regina where she taught psychology for decades. Even with her memory issues, mom still enjoys puzzles, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune. While we three siblings have been able to provide a lot of care after 4+ years—and with 168 hours in every week—we've really needed help with in-home care! Mom is now enrolled in Outpatient Hospice (a big thanks to the kind folks at Hope Health Hospice), which is helpful with visiting nurses and trusted advice but doesn't cover in-home aide care. Our goal is simply to keep mom in her home and any funds raised will go directly to in-home care costs. We realize these are challenging times for many, but if you're able to donate $50 or so, it would be very much appreciated. Thanks for your time and consideration.
