Keep Cans of Beer Coming out of Tom's Tap
Donation protected
Hi, Sean and Jacqui from Tom's Tap here.
Tom's Tap and Brewhouse is a community focused brewery and taproom in Crewe. We've been here since 2018 and have earned a reputation for good beer and cider in a safe and welcoming environment.
Last month our trusty can seamer, that we bought during lockdown, bit the dust meaning that we're no longer able to do takeaway beers, subscription boxes, home deliveries and beer for our online beer and cheese matching evenings.
With the growing trend of drinking beer at home, we know that having beer available in small pack (cans and bottles) is critical to keeping a brewery in business. Pubs are falling by the wayside at the rate of nearly six a week so breweries are fighting for an ever decreasing share of sales over the bar. This is why selling cans direct to the public is so important.
We're too small to meet the minimum volume requirements for contract packagers and we don't have space or funds for an entry level canning line so replacing the seamer (and buying a filler) is the only way we can keep takeaways, web orders and online events going.
The bottom line is that this will cost £1,500, which we don't have, so we are asking if you can spare a few pounds to help. Absolutely no pressure but each donator will get a free hug and our unerring gratitude.
