We are calling in support for our friend Brendan, and we believe that with compassion, prayer, and community, we will meet this goal. Brendan is facing an urgent financial deadline, and together we are raising the $16,000 needed to keep him safe, stable, and home for the holidays.

If the remaining balance on his divorce-related fees isn’t paid by December 15th, the other party intends to file an affidavit that would result in his arrest before Christmas, with the possibility of serving up to 90 days in the Greenville County Detention Center.

Why This Is So Critical

We know times are challenging for everyone right now, and we’re all facing obstacles. But for Brendan, this is truly a matter of life stability. If he’s arrested, he could lose everything, his beloved job, his income, his chance at medical care, and his ability to support his children. It would have devastating consequences for his health and life.

Why This Happened

This is not about unpaid child support. There is no court-ordered child support in his case. Brendan agreed to a complicated financial arrangement that requires him to pay half of the expenses for his girls determined by the ex-wife, her attorney fees, and the ex-wife’s health insurance. These costs escalated quickly, and he fell behind despite constant effort.

Why This Matters Even More Now

Under the temporary custody terms, Brendan cannot see his children unless he pays for supervised visitation and keeps up with all Guardian ad Litem requirements. He is fully willing to do everything the court asks of him, but every step requires money he does not have.

The costs include supervised visitation fees, GAL fees, and additional legal costs that were added to an already overwhelming financial load. Because he cannot afford these services, he is unable to see his beautiful girls right now even though he has never stopped showing up for them emotionally, spiritually, or in every way he legally can.

It is important to understand that this fundraiser is only for the immediate attorney fees tied to his divorce and the current court deadline. This is not the amount needed for visitation, reunification, future GAL involvement, court ordered child support adjustments, or any of the ongoing expenses required to correct the situation. This is simply the cost he has to pay right now to avoid jail and stay stable enough to work toward being reunited with his daughters.

He is not trying to avoid responsibility. He is trying to survive a system that has placed a level of financial strain on him that is impossible to meet alone. Every contribution helps him get through this urgent deadline so he can begin addressing the steps needed to see his girls again and work toward a healthier, more balanced path forward.

Transparency and Documentation

We will provide any financial declaration or documentation needed to show exactly where the funds are going, the legal documentation is also available. Brendan has acquired a roommate to help manage costs, and he is committed to full transparency so everyone can trust that this is real, urgent and he’s doing everything in his capacity to remedy these circumstances independently.

Under the temporary custody terms, the court ordered that Brendan’s visitation be supervised. This was not because of violence, danger, or wrongdoing, but because the court wanted additional information and oversight while the divorce and custody issues were still unresolved due to concerns the ex-wife stated about his emotional stability (I can’t imagine not being emotionally under this duress while going through this) and for consuming delta 8 THC which was legally purchased from a convenient store and is no longer being consumed. The Guardian ad Litem has not made any findings against him. The supervised requirement exists solely because the court wants structured documentation and third party observation during this phase of the case.

These visits must take place through approved providers who charge hourly fees for each session. Brendan is also required to participate in ongoing Guardian ad Litem meetings and assessments, which also carry additional costs. He is fully willing to comply with every step, but the financial burden is more than he can handle on his own right now.

Because he cannot afford the supervised visitation fees or the GAL requirements, he is currently unable to see his beautiful girls even though he has done everything within his power to remain stable, consistent, and present. The separation is not based on any finding of harm or misconduct, but purely on financial barriers created by the structure of the temporary orders.

It is also important to understand that this fundraiser covers only the immediate attorney fees tied to the current court deadline. It does not cover the cost of supervised visits, GAL appointments, reunification steps, future child support obligations, or the financial processes required to resolve the overwhelming and unnecessary load placed on him.

Every contribution helps him meet this immediate crisis so he can stay working, stay safe, and finally begin the steps needed to see his daughters again.

What We’re Creating Together

We’re not just paying a balance; we’re protecting Brendan’s future. We believe in Brendan, we believe in community, and we believe we will reach this $16,000 goal.
