After 5 years of self financing Bored Music Geek Radio, circumstances dictate that we may need a little help in keeping it going.
The station has been financed out of our pockets for 5 years. Though we have had support from donations that kept us afloat most of last year, the time has come that we either try to crowdsource or to pack it in.
We started this station for music geeks like us. It was started during the pandemic and we chose a service that ensured that the artists got paid for what we played. That was important to us. Unfortunately, that costs money. We currently have over 12,000 songs in rotation dating from the beginning of recorded media to yesterday. Here's our original mission statement:
Unlike most radio stations that have fewer than 100 songs in rotation over and over and over, Bored Music Geek Radio's starting point is 12,000+ songs that cross and blend genres. Music from the last 100 years is mixed in with music as new as now.
You will hear plenty of classic hits, if that's your thing, but you will also hear lots of deep cuts, obscure tracks, unsigned acts, and (in some cases) music that you will never hear anywhere else custom made for the station.
Bored Music Geek Radio is the perfect place for those who love going deeper into music but still enjoy the big hits, too.
We are currently in the process of adding original programming, but the staple of the station is a century's worth of music coming at you randomly, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Bored Music Geek Radio will never be for everyone, but it will always be for a very certain group. Are you one of us?

We've put our souls into this station and have met a lot of cool people through it who have joined the BMGR family. Unfortunately, time may be running out without your help.
We've set our goal at $2,400 because each month costs us $200. Apart from some donations, we've footed the bill personally for all these years. Circumstances has dictated that that may not be possible going forward. The $2,400 would cover 1 full year of BMGR. Anything over would help to ensure the station is around for the long haul.
