Betty is 82 and frail.  She needs a home attendant 24/7.  We have applied for Medicaid but have not heard anything yet.  The rent on her apartment, although it is rent controlled, is more than she can pay on her Social Security.  She has another income source, but nothing may be forthcoming until April.  She needs help paying for the home attendant, and help paying her rent, for the next three months.  I know that people are preoccupied now with many other things, but if you can give something, you will be prolonging the life of someone who is much loved and in need of care.  I cannot provide this, as I only have what I get from Social Security and a small amount that I earn as a copy editor.  I don't want to think of the terrible things that will happen if she has no  home care and cannot pay her rent.  It would be a tragedy.  Please give what you can.
