Hi my name is Conor Hickey and I am fundraising on behalf of an non-profit organisation called Keep Barbados Clean.

Why support us?

Picture the Barbados everyone falls in love with: turquoise water, white sand, green cane fields rolling down to the coast. Now picture what too many of our roadsides actually look like — bottles, tyres, mattresses, and bags of household waste dumped along the very routes visitors and Barbadians drive every day. Illegal dumping doesn't stay where it's dropped. It washes into our gullies, seeps toward our groundwater, and ends up on our beaches and in our sea.

I've partnered with Keep Barbados Clean, a local initiative that's been out on the roadsides every week with a Madvac litter-collection crew, working to turn this around — and the results already speak for themselves: 108 extra-large bags of litter and more than 30 large dumped items (televisions, tyres, even a stove) pulled off our roads and out of our gullies so far.

Right now, the team can only afford to run one cleanup day a week. This fundraiser is about changing that — funding more cleanup days, helping the crew start sorting and diverting recyclable material instead of sending everything straight to landfill, and building the public awareness that gets people to stop the dumping at the source, not just clean up after it.

For every GBP 148 ( 403 Barbados Dollars ) raised we can pay a two man crew for a full day to clean and clear the worst affected areas. Every day added significantly increases our impact.

This isn't a one-off clean sweep. It's the start of putting real, sustained resource behind protecting the island we all love — so the Barbados on the postcard is the Barbados you actually find when you get here. Every dollar raised goes toward cleanup days, responsible disposal, and the awareness work needed to make this change last.
