Ballet Edge Detroit was founded in 2017, and in just one year our company has grown to ten members. We have performed at many of Detroit’s most iconic attractions and events, including the Detroit Institute of Arts, Detroit Design Ball, Motor City Choreography and the Detroit Auto Show. Our shows offer a unique style of dance and movement, which blends classical ballet with a modern flare to create an unforgettable, visceral experience. We need your help to ensure 2019 brings even more opportunity for us to share our art with the people of Detroit.
We are a group of strong women from vastly different walks of life, and our shared passion for dance is only part of who we are: we are students, we are teachers, we are mothers, we are young professionals. Your financial support would mean the world to us as we continue our efforts to cement ourselves as an exciting part of Detroit’s resurgence and comeback!
Ballet Edge Detroit needs your help in raising money for the following items:
Redford Theatre Rental Fee: $4000 (Saturday July 20 @4pm)
Ballet Edge Detroit is performing at the historical Redford Theatre in Detroit on July 20 at 4pm. Our promise is to bring an entertaining show to all of Detroit. Our diverse repertoire includes:
Embrace (Vivaldi)
Smooth Criminal (Michael Jackson)
Fur Elise (Beethoven)
Lose Yourself (Eminem)
...and much more!
Costumes: $50 per costume (32 costumes per year)
We take pride in choosing costumes that will match the choreography and artistry of each piece. Our repertoire is expanding quickly and so is our need for additional outfits. Each season we add 1-2 new routines.
Registration Fees: $10-$60 per show
Many of the shows for which we perform require up-front fees to get on stage. If we want to keep putting ourselves out there for Detroit to see, then these registration fees will continue to pile up.
Pointe Shoes: $75 per pair (40 pairs per year)
Ballet is not ballet without pointe shoes, and our dancers work through 5 pairs each year. Between rehearsals and performances these shoes break down quickly.
