Keep Ayden's Mom by his side during his cancer treatment

Meet Ayden, eight-years-old, who is as brave as the superheroes he loves. I'm his Auntie.

Ayden was born premature and overcame health challenges in his first years of life to become a bright, curious, happy boy who loves Lego, dancing, puppies, and most of all his Mom.

Not long ago, we were talking on the phone and Ayden said “I have cancer.” Three devastating words that change everything for a family. Instead of thinking about playdates or his Grade 3 lessons, Ayden is fearful of the disease inside him that he cannot see or fully understand.

Ayden has rhabdomyosarcoma, a cancerous tumour of the muscle cells. He’s had surgery and is now facing six months of chemotherapy. Ayden’s mother Roxanne is a mental health worker and single mom. She has taken leave from her work to be by his side throughout the treatment. While Roxanne’s income is reduced, they need help with expenses and out of coverage medical costs.

Roxanne is the first person to lend a hand when someone needs it. She cooks, organizes celebrations, decorates, and does a million little things to make the people in her life feel special, especially Ayden. She’s the last to ask for anything for herself. She and Ayden are facing this difficult situation with courage and love. Please help me make sure they don’t have to worry about financial stress and pressures at this difficult time. They should be focussed on overcoming this cancer and nothing else.
