Hi my name is Aster, I work as a caregiver for around 32 hours a week. and I’m a full time college student. I’m also disabled.
I’ve been on a housing voucher for people who were formerly homeless and they haven’t paid my rent this month. I have until 4/5/2026 (Sunday) to pay this before I get charged late fees or evicted. I do not have savings due to medical expenses, car issues and other extenuating circumstances. My car insurance also needs to be paid so I can keep my job. My starting goal is 1,800$ for my 1,400$ rough ish rent and 400$ for my car insurance.
I’m also transgender and seeking top surgery due to being unable to bind and tape safely due to my disabilites and really bad dysphoria. Insurance will cover the surgery itself but not the rent while I recover. I’m asking for around 2,000$ for two months worth of rent, car insurance and food money for this recovery time.
I also need to get my van adapted to be wheelchair accesible for my job as I have a client who is a power-wheelchair user. It would also be for me if my medical issues get worse and also I want to foster in the future for kids especially ones who wouldn’t usually get a foster home due to being disabled. It’s very costly and I can’t afford it on my own. I’ve been quoted around 7,000$ dollars to get my van adapted.
Any extra costs past my rent and car insurance will go to these two other major expenses I have or food/gas money. I hate asking this as I do work and receive help but I have no other choice. I don’t want to be homeless again. All in all, this total would be a roughly 10,000$ which is a huge ask and I don’t know if we will get there but if we can that would be amazing.
