Hi, my name is Angela. On October 29, 2025, I was suddenly terminated from my job after a year of dedication. I truly thought I’d be with the company for the long run, but life took an unexpected turn.
Now I’m faced with the challenge of keeping a roof over our heads while I search for new employment. I’ve already applied to several jobs, but with the current government shutdown, my applications for assistance are delayed and there’s no clear timeline for when they’ll be reviewed.
As a single mother, my biggest concern is my 10-year-old son, who is on the autism spectrum. He senses my worry and asks if we’ll be okay — and I’m doing everything I can to make sure we are. My next (and final) paycheck will be for less than 80 hours, which won’t even cover half of our rent. Without help, eviction becomes a very real possibility.
My first priority is covering our $1,500 rent and electric bill, while signing up for local food pantries to make sure my son has meals. Unfortunately, I don’t have family to turn to, so I’m reaching out for kindness and community support.
Any donation — big or small — will make a world of difference for us right now. Even if you can’t donate, please share our story. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, sharing, and caring.
With gratitude,
Angela
