My name is Andrew Hartman, and I’m reaching out with humility and hope. Over a year ago, I sold everything I owned in the United States to pursue a dream of traveling, experiencing new cultures, and starting a fresh chapter in Southeast Asia. This journey has been filled with incredible moments—meeting kind and inspiring people, immersing myself in vibrant traditions, and learning lessons that can only come from stepping far outside your comfort zone.

But now, I find myself at a crossroads, and I need your help.

I’ve spent the last several months trying to build an online print-on-demand business, hoping to create a steady income stream to fund my travels and sustain myself. Unfortunately, despite my best efforts, the business has not yet taken off. To further secure my future, I put myself through school to become certified to teach English abroad. I’m now actively applying for teaching positions in Vietnam and Thailand, determined to build a stable life here while continuing to explore and learn.

However, the reality is that my funds have dwindled to almost nothing, and I’m not yet in a position to support myself. I thought I could sell my 14-karat gold chain to bridge the gap, but I’ve learned that no one here is willing to purchase it. Now, I face a difficult decision: return to the U.S., where I would be homeless and living out of a backpack in the middle of winter, or somehow find a way to hold on until I can secure a teaching job or my online business begins generating income.

I’ve set up this GoFundMe with an initial goal of $2,000, which would cover about two months of living expenses—enough time to finalize a teaching position or see progress with my business. However, if I’m able to raise $4,000–$5,000, it would provide me with significantly more stability, allowing me the time and resources to find a steady job or see my business take off. It would also give me the safety net to return to the U.S. after the harsh winter months if I am unable to secure an opportunity here, making it easier to pick up the pieces and rebuild my life.

Asking for help is not easy for me, but I’m desperate to avoid giving up on this dream. I believe in the value of exploring the world, connecting with people, and creating a life that’s driven by passion and purpose.
