Hi, my name's Amber. My family and I live in Anderson, SC. We moved here in March. It's me, my fiancé Jason, our daughter Alexis, our son Donavan, and we also have a son that's away in the Army. We have 3 dogs. Times are very rough right now. My fiancé is the only one working because I have 2 herniated discs in my back and a slipped disc in my neck. The thing is, my fiancé got injured on Halloween and he was out of work for 3 weeks. Then, with the rain off and on, he hasn't worked but 20 hours for the past 2 weeks as he does asphalt for a living. So for 3 weeks straight, we had no income coming in at all. We had to get a loan last month just to pay our power bill. Our water was 2 months behind, but luckily someone did help us with that, or else our water would be off right now. We received an eviction notice today and we have 10 days to come up with $1,065.00, then our power is due right after that. If we are able to raise any money it will go to our rent and our power bill . It could even be sent to the landlord . It's Christmas time, so that really makes things more difficult, as we do have a 6-year-old son. Not only that, who wants their children to wake up on Christmas homeless? We have come a long way and we are all about family. That's our little family because we have no one else. It's just us. We have nothing to fall back on, nowhere to go if we lose our home. So that's another thing that makes this so hard. I have always worked, actually since I was 15, and had to quit working last year. I can't even get food stamps because my last employer won't even sign a letter stating I no longer work there. It just seems like everything is against us right now, but we know we got The Good Lord watching after us and I have prayed and prayed for God to take our worries and we have faith that things are going to get better. We never ask anyone for help, we never have our hand out, and we don't use anyone. My fiancé is back working now and all we need is help with our rent, power, and possibly groceries. I have talked to the landlord and explained our situation and they said if we have the full balance on the court date, they will allow us to continue to live here. So if there's anyone out there that's willing or able to help our family so we don't lose our home at Christmas, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read my story and I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed Christmas. Thank you again.
