A Major Milestone for Affordable Care Clinic

We have exciting news to share! As of March 8, 2026, Affordable Care Clinic has officially submitted our Form 1023 application to the IRS for recognition as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

This is a huge step forward for the clinic and the patients we serve. For more than 14 years, our mission has been to provide compassionate, relationship-based, affordable healthcare to people in our community—especially those who are uninsured, underinsured, or struggling to access care.

By transitioning to a nonprofit structure, we will be able to pursue grants and public support that will help stabilize and expand this work for years to come.

While the IRS review process typically takes a few months, organizations that apply within the required timeframe (as we have) are generally granted tax-exempt status retroactive to their date of incorporation. Once approved, Affordable Care Clinic’s tax-exempt status will be retroactive to January 21, 2026, the date the nonprofit corporation was officially formed. This means that donations made during this period are expected to become tax-deductible when the exemption is officially certified.

We are continuing to raise bridge funding to help sustain the clinic while we complete this transition. Every contribution helps us keep the doors open, maintain affordable services, and continue caring for patients who depend on us.
