I am raising funds for a dear friend of mine who had to leave Canada due to immigration bureaucracy. The funds raised here will support him accessing therapy in case stuff gets out of hand in India and/or if he ends up needing to fly out in case of an emergency.

We are unsure how long he will have to live in India. So we are taking proactive steps to raise funds to support him in the event his mental and physical safety is at risk. All funds raised will cover his therapy sessions, and potentially a flight ticket to the USA. Anything after that will support his food, and housing when he's back in Canada.

I want my friend to come back from Punjab as soon as possible. I can't emphasize enough how difficult day-to day life is in deeply conservative and transphobic communities. So while he is there, I am calling on everyone to pitch in and support us to keep my friend safe until he returns to his true home.

Nobody is legal on these colonized lands, and the systems are designed to uphold the colonial standards of living by requiring humans to present proof that they belong. Resistance to this violent forms of hierarchy comes in many ways. I hope you find your way to support my dear brother.
