Help a Single Mom and Her Daughters Overcome Homelessness

Donation protected
Hello,

I’m reaching out with a heavy heart, feeling a mix of embarrassment and hope, as I ask for your help. I’m a single mom with two incredible daughters who have made me proud by excelling in school as honor roll students. Despite their achievements, I can’t shake the feeling that I’m letting them down.

The past two years have been an uphill battle for us. Here’s a glimpse into our journey:

In January 2023, after dedicating two years as the Marketing Director for an Autism Behavioral Service company, I was laid off because the company sold the business. To keep us afloat, I turned to freelancing and driving for Uber while searching for stable employment.

Then, on June 16, 2023, everything changed. I was in a car accident while driving for Uber, and my car was totaled. Heartbreakingly, my insurance had expired just two days prior, leaving me without coverage and without a vehicle. With no car and no job, we became homeless by November 2023.

In January 2024, a glimmer of hope appeared when I secured a great job. I worked tirelessly, saving enough money to move us into a perfect place by March. It felt like things were finally looking up. However, on June 24, 2024, I was laid off again due to budget cuts. I loved that job and believed it was our chance at stability.

Since then, I’ve been diligently applying for jobs and attending interviews, but haven’t secured a position yet. We’re now facing eviction because I don’t have the $1,500 to pay our rent. With no place to go, my anxiety grows daily as my girls’ school year approaches on August 15th. I can’t afford their uniforms, shoes, or school supplies.

Adding to these challenges, I’m battling health issues that cause my body’s defense system to attack healthy cells and tissues, resulting in significant physical damage.

I’m reaching out in desperation, hoping for a lifeline. Your support can help us keep a roof over our heads, prepare my daughters for school, and allow us to find stability once again. Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean the world to us. The funds will be used to pay our rent $1,500 and $500 for my daughters back to school uniforms, transportation and school supplies.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for considering our situation and for any help you can provide.
