Keep a Roof Over a Migrant Family's Head!

A family very close to us are facing eviction after their rent was hiked by a grand, without contract, by a slum landlord who has been happy to see them live in a mould-infested flat for years.
After being denied a council emergency housing payment, they are left without options and eviction looming. Major repairs to the roof need to be done and the last time it was raised to the landlord, they were threatened with retaliatory eviction. This has rendered half of the kitchen unusable due to leaks and mould. Unsurprisingly, this is taking a huge physical and mental toll on the family, two of whom are disabled. They are trying to find somewhere else to live but are struggling to pass referencing on low-income (landlords are asking for £50k+ combined household income). While they continue to look, they are left scrambling to pay this extra grand into the landlord’s pocket month after month.
We understand this isn't a rare story in London these days - so many of us are struggling to make rent each month and worried about our landlord's next move. There is no pressure to donate if times are tight for you, but if you have a spare quid or two you can afford to send, it would be such a huge help for this family.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this - your time and generosity means so much to us.
