Hi, my name is Jack and I'm humbly requesting your help for an emergency situation. My mother's marriage has become dangerously precarious and in my (disabled, low income) desire to keep her safe and our family together I have started this fundraiser in hopes that (1) we do not worry about becoming imminently unhoused; (2) we are not reliant upon the state's long wait-listed timing for assistance; and (3) our household (my disabled mother, myself, and one absolutely beloved feline) is as healthy as we can be as we navigate these painful circumstances. The breakdown of where such a large sum goes is as follows:

3000 - legal, medical & physical security

2200 - 1 mo. rent

1500 - vet + Rx food

700 - fees & taxes of the above

Now that you know the most important part, please bear with me as I share how devastating this is to us. After decades shadowed by the abuse suffered at the hands of my biological father, my mother believed she found a life partner who respected her. I wouldn't be alive today typing this if it weren't for her tireless efforts, and it breaks my heart to see her once again traumatized and scared not only for herself but me as well. I've inherited and learned so much from her on how to be a compassionate, empathetic individual, and I have faith in her as she's had faith in me.

We're in a new state across the country, a move that we sacrificed 90% of our belongings and being close to the rest of our small family after the tragic passing of my grandmother, all for a belief that we'd have a better life and more freedom to be active in our communities which aside from this has been very true! It is soul crushing to find I may have seriously misplaced my trust in someone to join me in caring for and honoring her as we begin this next stage of our lives; lives we continue endeavor to be long spent enriching others' and moving forward in collective justice and mutual aid.

Those close to me know I'm a pretty private person who likes to spend my time helping others, caring for their lives and their worries both emotional and financial, but my mom is one half of my world that I will do anything and everything to protect, including accepting the stigma of asking for monetary help while so many the world over struggle. Please help me keep her safe and as stress-free as possible as this situation threatens to worsen her health.
