Keens Steakhouse Employee Emergency Fund

Since Keens Steakhouse closed its doors on March 15th, the Keens management team has heard concerning reports from our most vulnerable employees. These are our dishwashers, cleaners, food preparer, porters and service assistants, people who are raising families and have now lost their living wages. We have created this fund so that we can offer a lifeline to these furloughed employees who face unexpected financial stress as time passes. We cannot be sure about the timeline for the reopening of our restaurant. Meanwhile, many are struggling to pay for medicine, rent or even groceries. Some of our families are in desperate need of immediate financial aid. This fund allows us to offer them support in this time of extreme need during the pandemic.

 

Restaurant staffs often describe themselves as families, and we cannot abandon our friends and colleagues with whom we have worked shoulder-to-shoulder for many years. We want to be there for them—and your support would mean the world to us to assist dozens of people behind the scenes, people you probably never see when you visit our famous dining rooms. We are eternally grateful for any contribution because it will allow us to help the less-advantaged members of our team during this crisis.

 

Keens Steakhouse has endured since 1885. After the current crisis passes, we will be back to offer you our hospitality.
