Matt's Top Surgery
Donation protected
Hey, I’m Matt (aka Keeno amongst rugby mates) and I’d really appreciate your help.
I’m currently partway through my medical transition (FTM), and the next big step is top surgery. It’s something I’ve dreamed about for years - not just for how it’ll change my body, but how it’ll finally let me breathe easier, move more freely, and be free in my own body. To look in the mirror and feel aligned - not disconnected. To take off my shirt without anxiety. To just exist, without second-guessing every movement.
Like many trans people in the UK, I’ve been stuck in limbo. The NHS waiting list for a first consultation is over two years long - and that’s just to get seen (Gender Construction Kit, 2023). The wait is painful, not just physically but emotionally. And while I’ve looked into going private, the cost is overwhelming. So, I’m reaching out - because I can’t do this on my own.
Every donation, no matter the size, brings me closer to something life-changing. I’ve already had so much love and support from friends, chosen family, and even kind strangers - and it honestly means the world.
Outside of this journey, I’m a physiotherapist with a background in psychology, and I care deeply about helping others - especially those in the LGBTQ+ community. My goal has always been to be visible, compassionate, and real - and to open minds through honest conversations and lived experience.
I’m also a passionate rugby player - the sport has been a huge part of my life. It’s where I’ve found belonging, strength, and connection. I’m lucky to play on an inclusive team that embraces diversity and shows up for one another, on and off the pitch. But playing in a binder is painful, restricting, and sometimes even unsafe. Top surgery would allow me to train and compete without physical discomfort or emotional stress - and to fully enjoy the sport I love with confidence and pride.
I’ve been inspired by so many amazing trans men - Jake Graf, Jordyn Pollack, Alex Tilinca, Matt Miller, Liam Lazore, Finlay Games, Chella Man, Schuyler Bailar - people who show that trans joy and success is possible. I want to get there too. And with your help, I believe I can.
If you can donate, share, or just send some encouragement, thank you - truly. You’re not just helping me get surgery. You’re helping me finally be free in my own body, and live more confidently as the man I know I am - on and off the rugby pitch.
Strength and solidarity, and much love,
Matt / Keeno
