Hi name is Keeley Meijer, I am 19 years of age, currently in my second year at Latrobe University studying Physical and Health Education. Recently my beautiful mother passed away to an unknown cause on the 17th March 2017.
My mother was 39 years and was a chronically ill women. Mum suffered from Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Parkinson, an extreme case of eczema, Pericarditis (heart condition), anemia, septicaemia and blood clots in her legs. She suffered a lot in a short life, practically called a hospital home. Even though she has passed and left me behind, she is no longer suffering and in constantly in pain.
Due to mums passing, I have been organising the funeral and it's costs. But as a university student there is always that struggle when it comes to money. Some people may know, it's exhausting organising a funeral, especially your mothers at a young age. Although I havent been doing this on my own, it is still draining, complicated and surreal.
Mum had a lot of ambitions and dreams she wanted achieve before passing. These included travelling. She had always wanted to travel to Ireland and experience their culture and of course meet a lovely irish man. I recently found a list of things that she also wanted to do that I wasnt aware of. She wanted to travel back to Canada and dine at the niagara falls restuarant and start renovatting the house. Because mum was sick she wasnt allowed to travel and now can never get the opportunity. I plan on doing this for her and taking her with me on the journey.
With the money that is donated and saved will be going towards an around the world trip for later on in the year or mid-next year as well as the funeral expenses. Any money that is donated will be appreciated and creating a positive impact on my life more than you would know. I haven't been a big money person, as I believe you don't need money to be happy as long you are surrounded by those who love you. However, I dont expect a lot except for the chance to do this for my mother, as she didnt get the oppportunity before her life was unfortunately cut short.
