First I want to say that I realize this platform is used for people who are experiencing the most difficult blows that life can give to a person, so please know that I don't do this lightly. But if you would have chatted with my son today you'd know why I'm putting this out there for anyone who cares about him.
As most of you know, Keegen joined the military 3 years ago and tomorrow he will become a senior airman! I am so very proud of him. BUT with the news of his promotion, he also received a $2000 bill from his employer, the US government.
Last October, Keegen's radio was destroyed (his fault and he reported it immediately, even though his example was to just keep his head down and his mouth shut.) He assumed all was good and went about his business.
Fast forward to March 2, 2023 he was told by his leadership that the military is implementing a new rule that Airman will have to pay for damaged equipment. Keegen was also told that he's the first one to fall under this new rule. Lucky him.
In the 3 years that Keegen has been serving in the military he has been an exemplary Airman. He gets along well with his fellow Airman and his leadership and takes pride in his duty but as you can imagine, he's feeling very defeated right now, especially because he only has a year to pay it back (and we all know how crappy military pay is).
So with this fund, I would like to try and help him out. If anyone is able to give, I know it would help put the wind back into his sails and he would be forever grateful.
signed,
his mom
(who's a super disappointed American right now and is trying to be nice as I type this all out)
