Keegan Dhillon (age 21), Ben and Rachel's oldest son, has PH- B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
What began as a trip to the dentist for a toothache and a typical doctor appointment due to lightheadedness and a bloody nose on Wednesday, Sep. 10, turned into a trip to the ER and receiving the news no parent ever expects to hear - Keegan has leukemia.
After undergoing months of chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments, it became apparent that Keegan would need a bone marrow transplant.
At the end of this week, the family will be headed down to City of Hope to begin Keegan’s pre-transplant treatment (chemo, radiation, etc.). Keegan’s younger brother Jackson was identified as a perfect donor match so he will also be undergoing the transplant transfusion.
Assuming everything goes as planned, Keegan’s transplant will occur on February 3rd. Keegan will then spend the next 100 days at City of Hope. During this time, Ben and Rachel will be sharing caregiver responsibilities for Keegan while coordinating travel back and forth for work and to be home with their other children, Jackson and Kennedy.
While this news has understandably turned the family’s world upside down, they’ve experienced God’s peace and provision over the past four months; and have been blessed and encouraged by many friends, family, and other caring individuals.
Donations will go to supporting Keegan’s care and the family’s needs as they commute back and forth from their home in Sanger to Duarte, CA for the 4-month stay at City of Hope.
Please continue to pray for Keegan’s ultimate healing and God’s provision for the family during the weeks and months ahead.
Thank you so much!
