I want to start by thanking everyone for the support and encouragement you have offered since I announced I will be running my fifth Boston Marathon this April. It's hard for me in many ways to believe we are back here again. It's been almost eleven years since my first Boston, and seven years since the last time I ran the course. As I start my training, I feel confident 2024 will be my strongest run yet.
Some may be aware why I am choosing to run, and some may not know the backstory. Over the next few weeks, as I start training and fundraising, I will share the experiences that led me to want to toe the line this April. Plain and simple, life is a series of highs and lowes, much like a marathon. This past year, running has given me peace of mind and the drive to persevere through challenges. As I share my training story, I hope to inspire others and share how running has been a conduit of energy.
As part of receiving my bib from the Hopkinton Education Foundation, I have committed to raising $6000 for their mission. The Education Foundation’s vision is to be the primary independent catalyst that energizes Hopkinton Public School educators to deliver innovative educational experiences that inspire students to explore and become lifelong learners. As a teacher, this philosophy is the driving force behind my own classroom instruction. I am proud to be raising funds that will offer grant opportunities for teachers, that will in turn assist students in transferring critical thinking, problem solving, and collaborative learning from abstract concepts to daily practices.
Thank you for your love and support!
