Keahiakahoe Juniors Paddling Team

Twelve junior girls between the ages of 16-18 years old will be embarking on a 41 mile journey from Hale O Lono Harbor on Moloka'i to Duke Kahanamoku Beach in Waikiki. They will be participating in what is considered the World Championships of Women's Long-Distance outrigger canoe paddling- The Na Wahine O Ke Kai. The Juniors division is a new age group for this race and these 12 young women are ready for the challenge. The biggest challenge now facing these young ladies is the cost to participate in this event. Entry fees ( 2 qualifying races and the actual race), escort boat fees, shipping fees, airfare, transportation, lodging and food are the expenses that need to be covered in order for them to participate in this race.
