Jim has had a rough year. This past September he had both knees and after 6 months of physical therapy - he failed his physical ability test to go back work when his left knee went out. While going through additional therapy for his knee - he discovered a bump on the right side of his neck - he went to the hospital where he had a scan and biopsy, and was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma back right side of his tongue and his right lymph node.
The good news is the Doctors says it is curable with 7 weeks of chemotherapy and radiation treatments. The first chemotherapy is this coming Thursday.
He needs money to cover living expenses and medical bills. He has not been working full time since September and things are getting real tight for him.
In the past, Jim did fund raising for the Lauderdale By The Sea Fire Department and Lauderdale By The Sea Community Church. He has always helped people out in the past, and now he needs help.
