Hi all, as you are aware my son Kene passed away in 2022 aged 17 after being diagnosed in 2021 with a rare aggressive cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma.
Determined to turn our broken hearts and tragedy into something positive, we set up the Kene Daniel Madueke (KDM) Foundation in his memory to help Teenagers aged 16-19 diagnosed with cancer or a terminal illness by providing financial assistance towards: private therapy like counselling services, educational resources, memory making activities, fun days out and respite from treatment.
Kene was courageous, loving and brought immense joy to all of us. He had a fantastic future ahead of him, he was extremely intelligent, responsible and popular with predicted A level grades of straight A's. Sadly, he was tragically taken away from us by this cruel disease.
Kene taught us a lot about life and we owe it to him to continue to celebrate his life! We are driven by his love for all and his academic brilliance, hence, we want to ensure that his Foundation gives Teenagers aged 16-19 diagnosed with cancer or a terminal illness the opportunity to continue their academic career and have the best quality of life whilst receiving treatment. This is what Kene would have wanted as his legacy!
I am participating in the 30km walk from University College London Hospital where he passed away to London Road Cemetery where he is laid to rest. As always, I am ever so grateful for your support!
