Hello all, as you are aware my son Kene passed away in 2021 aged 17 after being diagnosed the year before with a rare aggressive cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma.
Determined to turn this tragedy into something positive, we set up the Kene Daniel Madueke (KDM) Foundation in his memory to help children aged 16 to 19 with cancer or a terminal illness by providing financial assistance towards private counselling services, education resources, memory making activities, fun days out and respite from treatment.
Kene was courageous, loving and brought joy to all of us. He had a fantastic future ahead of him, Kene was extremely intelligent, responsible and popular, with predicted A level grades of straight A’s. He was tragically taken from us so soon due to this cruel disease. Kene taught us a lot about life, and we owe it to him to continue to celebrate his life! We are driven by his love for all and his academic brilliance, hence, we want to ensure that part of the work of his Foundation will be to ensure that teenagers with cancer or a terminal illness can have the opportunity to continue their academic career and have the best quality of life whilst receiving treatment. This is what Kene would have wanted as his legacy.”
I am participating in the 19 mile walk from University College London Hospital where he passed away to London Road Cemetery where he is laid to rest. I am ever so grateful for your sponsorship and support!
