Seeking Support for Medical and Living Expenses
I am reaching out for help during an incredibly challenging time. I am physically disabled, autistic, dyslexic, and ADHD, and I live with the daily struggles of C-PTSD. These conditions are extremely painful and debilitating, leaving me unable to work consistently. As a trans person of color, systemic barriers have made finding support even harder.
I am currently overwhelmed by over $1,500 in past-due medical bills being sent to collections, and I’ve had to pay out of pocket for essential medical care and prescriptions. The total debt resulting from my disability is now $8,000. My job searches often lead to short-term employment, where my earnings are consumed by debt before I am let go. This cycle has left me without the stability or resources to manage my health.
I’ve also had to endure painful medication withdrawals and worsening symptoms because I cannot afford my prescriptions. My attempts to secure disability insurance have been unsuccessful, leaving me with limited options.
