Fight with Florence

I am Justice Suner, Florence's neighbor in the Philippines, and three years ago, I took up a job here in Chicago as a teacher; Florence is a nurse here in Chicago, she has helped me settle down and even took me in in her home during my first year in Chicago. She has been nothing but kind to me that she treated me like her own family. In 2019, Florence discovered that she had stage 3 colon cancer and had undergone surgery and chemotherapy. After a year, her doctors found another lung tumor and did surgery again to remove the cancer. Florence has been a fighter all her life. She is a single parent, raising her son on her own while providing for the needs of her elderly parents.

 

Just recently, Florence was planning to go home to the Philippines to visit her father, who is a stroke victim; however, the day before her flight, she had to go to the emergency room because she felt tingling on the left side of her face, left arm and hands. She can no longer bend her thumb or grab things using her left hand. The doctors ran a lot of tests, CT scan, MRI. They found a tumor on her right frontal lobe of her brain. The doctors are suggesting another surgery to remove the tumor.

 

I am deeply saddened by all of the things that is happening to her. These trials are emotionally, physically, mentally and financially tiring for her and for her family. I would like to help in any way that I could that is why I am using this platform to raise an amount that will be used for Florence's medication and other medical expenses.

 

This is very important for us who love and care for Florence, we will be fighting along her side for she a kind person that deserves to live life to the fullest and she will be able to live a longer and better life. Fight with us. Fight with Florence!
